Critical thinking

At the beginning of this session, we were asked about critical thinking and what it is. I think critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally and understand the logical connection between ideas which leads to creativity. moreover, critical thinking is an essential skill in many fields and contexts, including education, business, science, and politics. It allows individuals to make informed decisions and judgments based on evidence and reasoning rather than emotions or personal biases.

Here are some key components of critical thinking:
  1. Analysis: Breaking down complex information or arguments into smaller parts to understand and evaluate them.

  2. Evaluation: Assessing the credibility, accuracy, and relevance of information and arguments to determine their strengths and weaknesses.

  3. Synthesis: Combining information and arguments from multiple sources to form a coherent and logical conclusion or solution.

  4. Reflection: Examining one's own biases, assumptions, and perspectives to avoid errors and ensure a fair and balanced evaluation of information and arguments.

Then that, we discussed Ursula Le Guin’s theory which is about a comparing the human’s brain with a plastic bag, which tells the story of human origin by redefining technology as a culture carrier bag rather than a weapon of domination. In this theory, the bag is a container and it has its own identity but the bag also has a relationship with the items which are inside of it.

Then we were given some pages of Chapter iridescent : th/reading through mull : cutting a fashion theory course together-apart from Nike Romano. Then we had to draw our understanding from the passage on paper. after 10 minutes, there were lots of ideas and interesting drawings on the table.

Peronally, I picked the idea that human almawys needs to experience the ideas to pass the daily challenges. After a while, they culd find best soloutions and solve new problems by finding their connections and similarities to the previous problems.

Then we were asked to check the credibility of the source of the passage, there were a few of the at the bottom of the pages. I think Nike Romano wrote the text by combining the ideas from the resources, which lead to a text with semi-complex content.
